I attended Games Day 1996 in Baltimore, Maryland. It was a great experience, meeting people from the mailing list, talking with Jervis Johnson and playing 40K of course. I took a pile of pictures, some of which ended up on Chris Bickford's web site:

  • List Members at Games DayOffsite Link Indicator. A wonderful picture Chris put up, with an index to the people in the picture. It's so good I decided just to link to it.
  • ThunderhawkOffsite Link Indicator. A decent shot of one of the ThunderHawk Space Marine Gunships custom built by Games Workshop for the event of showing the complete Ultra Marine Chapter.

I also took some pictures of the great-looking terrain Games Workshop had provided to play on:

  • Jungle (32 KB). A great looking picture of a piece of watery jungle over which a fierce battle between Tyranids and Imperial Guards was fought.
  • Poison Wasteland (17 KB). An impressive industrial area, with nasty-looking chemical, undoubtedly toxic, waste.n Tyranids and Imperial Guards was fought.
  • Trenches (17 KB). A very nice defensive setup, with trenches, entrenched artillery positions, bunkers, etcetera.
  • Space Hulk Extravaganza (22 KB). A very large Space Hulk setup, built completely of Monster Bases and the site of some of the goriest slaughter I've seen, run by the list's own Tim Huckleberry.
Bullwhip Cracking
I attended a bullwhip handling seminar given by Gery L. Deer in Ann Arbor, organised by a friend of mine who had seen Gery perform at a local Science Fiction convention. Since I have practiced diligently and acquired two more whips: it is boatloads of fun!
Tekumel Published
With two friends I have developed a new RPG set on Tekumel for Guardians Of Order, a Canadian RPG company. It is out!
RPG Updates
I have been running my new game settings, based on my serial campaign concept, as well as have complete websites: ShadowWorld Mainline, ShadowWorld WWII and Grand Design.
I am working on a new current day ShadowWorld setting, with a new, entirely different cosmology.
Underworld is now ShadowWorld
Underworld, though laying claim to prior use, was renamed to ShadowWorld in the summer of 2002, to avoid confusion with earlier published role playing games with same or similar names.
It was moved to its own website.
