" ... for I may pass this way but once."
Edwin Voskamp's Bio
I was born 14 April 1964 in Almelo, a small town of perhaps 50,000 people in the Netherlands. We moved to an even smaller town nearby when I was eleven. I stayed in Wierden, attending University and Polytech until I moved to Swindon, England, to work at Galileo, a Computer Reservation System for the airlines. It's there that I met my future wife, Linda.
About a year later we went on a vacation to Indonesia, where this (19KB) picture was taken and I asked her to marry me. Fortunately for me she accepted and we got married six months later, in England.
The day after our honeymoon she was called back to America by her employer and I followed seven months later. We now live in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois in a custom built home we designed. It's a modern house in Western red cedar.
Here are two pictures of it:
- This (54 KB) picture shows the house from the road, straight ahead. It shows the symmetry of the central piece and the two wings and the large, overhanging prow over the front door.
- This (30 KB) picture shows the house from the driveway. It highlights the setback of the house, and the retaining wall we built to protect the two-and-a-half century old white oak in front.

I attended a bullwhip handling seminar given by Gery L. Deer in Ann Arbor, organised by a friend of mine who had seen Gery perform at a local Science Fiction convention. Since I have practiced diligently and acquired two more whips: it is boatloads of fun!
I have been running my new game settings, based on my serial campaign concept,
as well as have complete websites: ShadowWorld Mainline, ShadowWorld WWII and Grand Design.
I am working on a new current day ShadowWorld setting, with a new, entirely different cosmology.

Underworld, though laying claim to prior use,
was renamed to ShadowWorld in the summer of 2002,
to avoid confusion with earlier published role playing games with same or similar names.
It was moved to its own website.
